Gain controls on an amplifier are basically just small potentiometers variable resistors or volume controls if you will, that allow you to adjust the incoming signal to the amplifier so the amplifier works well with your headunit of choice or to match the level of other amplifiers in your system. Its not rocket science to set the gains. With one amplifier its desirable to have a nice swing on your headunits volume control. Let me try to clarify this a little. If we hook up a head unit with a 8volt or more output to an amplifier, then the volume will get loud very fast when we start to turn it up In other words if our digital volume control goes from , then a HIGH VOLT output to an amplifier might make the amplifier reach full power at 5 on the volume scale That kinda sucks cause it would be nice if you had a little more swing in your range! And by the same token a headunit with a LOW VOLT output might have to be turned up all the way to 30 and might still not quite drive the amplifier to full power A gain control in this case will allow you to adjust the amplifier so it allows the volume of a headunit to control the amplifier so it will get loud at a desirable point in the swing We don’t want it to get loud too fast as we wont have a good control as music levels differ.

My Jeeps I recently installed 2 kicker comp 10″ in my 98 jeep cherokee. I purchased an 8 guage wiring kit along with my subs. It came with power wire, ground, speaker wire, fuse, and remote wire. You connect the power wire to the positive of the battery and then make sure your fuse is within 18inches of the battery. Then i ran the power wire through the firewall and down the driver side floor panel to the rear of my car.
You will need an amplifier with a line-level AUX in jack. Many guitar practice amps have an AUX in jack. The amplifier will usually be advertised as allowing you to connect a portable music player to the amplifier to allow you to play your guitar along with the backing track.

How Hide TV Cables Audiophiles are always looking for new ways to get the most out of their audio equipment. Over the years people have found creative ways for enhancing sound quality beyond just buying more expensive speakers. There are two techniques in particular that we will talk about here: While neither of these techniques are strictly necessary, they can potentially give you better sound.
Speakers are usually a combination of two specific speakers: Both Bi-Wiring and Bi-Amping try to improve sound quality by isolating these components from one another. Bi-Wiring Bi-wiring is a way of connecting a speaker to an audio amplifier. Normally only one cable connects the speaker to the amplifier. In bi-wiring, each loudspeaker uses two cables one for the tweeter and one for the bass in the speaker which are then connected to the same amplifier.
Since both sets of cables connect to the same ports on the amplifier, many people argue that there is no benefit to this kind of setup and that it is a waste of money. However, many audio enthusiasts feel that bi-wiring good speakers can make a subtle improvement to middle range sound. Mid-range is arguably the most important part of the music; for one thing, the human voice falls into this range.

Feb 20, · But let me is it that you can’t just hook up a headphone amplifier to the line in inputs on the integrated, like you do a phono amp? Just curious:) .
The inline amplifier sold at Radio Shack prevents 2-way communication. Thanks, Chakthi I do not have access to many amps. If you have an amp installed in your home, please provide me with the information for it and whether it works or not! Feedback received on this FAQ entry: My downstream power level improved from dBmV without amp to -5 dBmV with the amp. Note this amp introduces some loss on the upstream and does NOT amplify the upstream return signal.
My modem is now pushing 5 dB more on the upstream power level, but still within spec. Speedtesting is within spec, so I am happy with it. Very helpful in learning more about my cable. So far internet and TV are working fine. Actually, TV signal was bad and now is great. The stats from the modem are:

With the speaker wires, connect the subwoofer system wiring to the amplifier. Make sure that you connect the speaker wires to the negative and positive outputs of your car’s amplifier. Route the speaker wires to where the subwoofer is located.
Narrative Description of Amplifier Circuit Function This amplifier provides watts power output for the Six-meter band. It uses the low cost GS35B Russian power triode in a grounded grid or cathode driven configuration and requires about Watts of drive power. The Russian tube is currently available from USA and international sources1 at attractive prices, especially when compared to the cost of traditional American tubes of this power rating.
The center tap of the filament secondary provides the connection to the tubes bias circuitry. RF driving power from the transceiver is applied to the tube’s cathode using an input matching circuit. A 5 to pF vacuum tuning capacitor is shown on the schematic. At plate voltages approaching 4kV, this capacitor may be eliminated. The tube circuit can be resonated using the vacuum tube output capacitance in conjunction with the output Pi-network coil.
A safe, easy way to adjust the output coil is described in the section “Adjusting the Pi-Network”. This is also a “set and forget” adjustment. Considerable expense is saved by elimination of the vacuum variable.

Is your amp bridgeable and how many channels does it have? I have a watt 4 channel crunch amp. The good thing about 4 channel is you can have a pair of sub-woofers bridged to channels 1 and 2 and control your bass. Then mids and highs bridged off of channels 3 and 4. So yes you can get more power out of certain amps by bridging. I have a nice Rockford fosgate system hooked up in my house.
May 05, · You dont have to buy a full stereo amp you could do what I do and just get a pre-amp like the little dac zero (about £ on ebay) and jsut hook it to your analogue preouts. The zero destroys my onkyo in stereo.
Share on Facebook It used to be that if you wanted to create a karaoke system in your home, you had to connect regular XLR-type microphones to a high-output amplifier and purchase an expensive disc player to plays CDG karaoke discs. With modern karaoke systems, though, all the hardware needed to sing along to your favorite tunes is inside the microphone.
With karaoke mics such as the ones made by Magic Sing, EnterTech and Magic Tech, you can set up the system with your TV and start singing in a matter of minutes. Plug the AC adapter cord for the karaoke mic into the mic base stand and an available electrical outlet. Do not turn on the mic or insert into the base unit yet. Step Connect the yellow, red and white RCA cable that lead from the microphone base to the corresponding input ports on the TV.

Transmission of signal involves not only the input and output, but also the cable with its inherent losses. As runs become longer, the approach to reducing losses changes. In modern equipment this cable loss is managed, but if the inputs and outputs are out of range, you need a DI or something to address the mismatch.

Because TV is made for watching movie, not for singing karaoke. Indeed, basic amplifier can let you control echo, key, lower sound feedback for each individual microphone input. With mixing amplifier, you can control the volume of the music, and give the bass more power if you have a good pair of speakers. At least, the amplifier can analyze the sound and make it become more lively and appealing instead of a flat sound which sounds like reading or speaking instead of singing.
However, you can choose to get a better mid-range microphone, so you can have a full control of your sound when you are singing. Mid-range microphone can offer you wider range of frequency choice, reduce surrounding noise, handle vibration, provide individual voice control for precise vocal balancing, and varies function depending on the mic model that you choose.
