All Terrains are an attempt to offer good performance both on road as well as offroad. The result is usually a quieter ride on the street than a mud tire due to its lesser aggressive tread pattern. The payoff of an All Terrain Tire is that they performs well on a variety of terrains: One drawback of an all terrain is that the tread design tends to pack with mud however some of the AT designs perform surprisingly well in muddy conditions. But when you look at the tread design of many mud tires, they generally perform well in other conditions such as on the rocks, in deeper snow, as well as in loose gravel and in the softer, constantly changing terrain of wooded trails. This is because mud tires are usually designed from a softer compound with wider gaps voids between the lugs, which grab onto anything it can hook one of its lug edges around, especially when aired down. Tread designs typically are what make or break a mud tire and vary widely from manufacturer to manufacturer. Drawbacks of the MT Mud Terrain tire are they perform poorly on the highway especially in the rain where the wide lug pattern results in less of a tire footprint on the road. Even worse, the MT can be downright dangerous in icy conditions.

I made it 2 years and 3 months without a flat, but I knicked the curb on the way to the airport last week and BAM! Not a good way to start a trip to Vegas. The tire had a nice 1 inch tear in the sidewall from rubbed against a curb on a right hand turn. No amount of tire repair goo was going to help this one. Alas that is one of the issues not only with the Volt, but with many electric cars which frankly just have no room for a spare tire.
Even other cars today are forgoing the spare for weight and efficiency reasons. I know my case is not the first, but I actually feel quite fortunate for the situation I was in. Fortunately one was still open. No matter, I was on my way out of town anyways.

More often than not, the feature cars you see on these pages are running some serious performance rubber on at least a inch rim, if not a or even inch rim, and why not? If you’re building a classic Mustang or Ford with better handling and braking that puts out more power, you truly need a better performing tire that has more grip for better traction, shorter braking, and improved handling.
A larger contact patch and shorter sidewall all work together to enhance these attributes in a classic Mustang or Ford.
How to Hook Up Bike Tires to Exercise Indoors by Elle Di Jensen You love bike riding for cardio, but the weather doesn’t always cooperate by providing you with clear skies and not too hot, not too cold temperatures. They’re handy stands that allow you to hook up the rear tire on your bike so you can exercise indoors. These bike stands do more than just convert your road or mountain bike into a stationary bike; they also provide adjustable resistance so you can simulate your favorite outdoor course.
Hooking one up to your bike only takes a few minutes, and then you’re ready to ride. Open the stand and set it on the floor. An open stand resembles a tripod with the resistance bar upon which your rear tire rests on one side, with the two support legs on the other. Place the stand on the floor in the location you want your bike.
Unscrew the rods running through the hinge at the apex of the stand. You need to slip your rear tire’s cog between them, so draw them out enough to provide the space, but don’t unscrew them all the way.

Make use of the second factory battery tray and have the install look as factory as possible. These are special crimpers used for “open barrel” terminals. You can search for “delphi crimpers” and find them. The crimpers allow you to make this type of crimp, which is critical. If the crimp is not right, the terminals will not slide into the connector. Start by installing the battery isolator. GM calls this a “secondary auxiliary relay”.
It goes on the firewall, up and left from the brake booster. How you mount it is up to you. If your truck is like mine, then it doesn’t have the needed studs from the factory. Install the relay that controls the battery isolator. It is also placed on the firewall directly above the wire coming from the alternator.
